Insomnia disorder: a review of new diagnostic models

Laura Palagini (Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Pisana AUOP) presents the review signed together with Andrea Fagiolini (Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Senese) published in Rivista di Psichiatria here , analyzing the new diagnostic and neurobiological models of insomnia that have developed in the last 10 years, re-discussing in this new perspective the possible relationships between insomnia and psychopathology.

Sleep system dysregulation and correlation with psychopathological conditions

Andrea Fagiolini (Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Senese) together with Laura Palagini (Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Pisana AUOP) present the review published in Rivista di Psichiatria here .
The update of the reference models of insomnia and the major classification systems, consider insomnia as a disorder in itself, referring to a concept of comorbidity rather than causality. Insomnia in this sense, in addition to being the most frequent sleep disorder, is also a risk factor for psychopathologies and is frequently associated with psychopathological pictures, representing a transdiagnostic element in psychopathology.
